Get to know Wayne Nichols

I have been a Longview resident since 1960. I was raised and educated here. I have spent my 41-year career here and raised my family here. My kids and grandkids live here, so I have a personal stake in seeing Longview thrive! I am happily married to my lovely wife, Shannon, and share our home with our beautiful rescue doggie, “Ruby.”

Through my career as an infrastructure inspector, and my years of volunteerism, I have learned the value and personal reward of serving others and have a track record of experience that matters in solving problems and collaborating with people. 

I have been:

• a local labor leader for 35 years specializing in contract negotiation and labor conflict resolution.
• a volunteer firefighter/EMT, and an EMT instructor. 
• a board member of a local credit union.
•  a CASA (court appointed special advocate) for children in court cases.
• a Cowlitz County election worker.
• a mentor for local high-school theatre students. 
• involved in community theatre for 25 years

In my spare time, I like landscaping, reading, participating in community theatre, riding my Harley, and playing my guitar.
